Scholarships
The Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Intensive is a small program which offers its participants a one of a kind and unparalleled training and cross-cultural opportunity with Master Teachers who trained, and continue to train, some of the biggest stars on the world’s ballet stages today. Because of our commitment to small classes and high caliber of the program, RAF is able to offer only a small number of scholarship opportunities as follows:
1) MERIT BASED FOR EXTRAORDINARY TALENT - RAF recognizes the enormous talent and dedication of many students interested in its program. Due to RAF’s desire for the most impartial award process, please note that RAF awards Merit Based scholarships through the Youth American Grand Prix Competition. For further information and registration please visit YAGP.org. In a rare instance, RAF does reserve its right to award Merit Based scholarships to students participating in its live national auditions. Such awards are by invitation only.
2) NEED BASED FOR EXTRAORDINARY TALENT - RAF recognizes that in some cases talented students are prohibited from participating due to financial constraints. In such cases, after receiving your acceptance letter to the program, RAF suggests that families contact the Director at obugai@russianamericanfoundation.org and submit the following paperwork for consideration: 2 years of tax returns as well as a letter indicating the level of support you are seeking.
3) TRAINING AND PERFORMING SCHOLARSHIP AT THE MOSCOW BOLSHOI BALLET ACADEMY - RAF is proud to continue its tradition of awarding 2 full scholarships for one female and one male student from its summer program to travel to Moscow, train for 2 weeks at the Academy and perform in a Gala Performance among some of the leading ballet students of today. The students are selected during the Summer Intensive by Program’s Master Teachers and RAF Executive Staff. To be eligible, the student must successfully complete the 6 week program.
4) NSLI-Y RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE THE RUSSIAN AMERICAN FOUNDATION AND BOLSHOI BALLET ACADEMY WAY - RAF is proud to have been recognized by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and to have created a special program at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow which offered 10 merit based full scholarships for a 6 week 2010 Summer Language, Culture and Training Intensive. Students must meet specific criteria to be considered. For detailed information please refer to NSLI-Y Program Tab. Information for 2011 is coming soon.
Russian American Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) public charitable foundation with the mission to encourage interest in and understanding of Russian heritage among all communities in the U.S., as well as to promote reciprocal interest in American heritage among global communities of the former Soviet Union.
