Elementary and Intermediate Levels

The program is located at the prestigious Westover School in Middlebury, Connecticut. The beautiful 100-acre private school campus is complete with four large dance studios, two state of the art athletic facilities, tennis courts, swimming pool, and a performing arts theatre. It is a safe, quiet environment that is ideal for younger students who may be experiencing a Summer Intensive away for the first time.

Housing at Westover
All students and staff are housed at the Westover School dorms. The dorms are located on the luxurious, green private school campus which also includes the performing arts complex, cafeteria, and all other facilities. The dorms are situated on the third floor of the main building and there are a LIMITED number of Air Conditioned Rooms available (*additional fees apply/first choice given to 6 week residents). The double and triple rooms are spacious, with a desk, dresser and wardrobe for each resident. The program staff will reside with the students and on-site 24 hour security is present throughout.
LINCOLN CENTER, NEW YORK CITY
Advanced Level
New York, NY
Advanced students (15+ ) will have the opportunity to study ballet in the one and only New York City! Our studios will be located in Manhattan's beautiful Upper West Side.
While some weekend activities will be provided, students will have more flexibility in their schedule, so that they may enjoy more varied sights and outings. This program is ideal for older students who are considering living in a major city, are independent, mature, and are excited about having more personal time in lieu of fewer planned activities.
Housing in New York
Students have two options of housing in NYC:
STRADFORD ARMS, an AMDA Residence is located in the residential neighborhood of the Upper West Side at 117 West 70th Street. The dorm is located in an area that has long been a center for the arts, countless museums, Broadway theatres, and Lincoln Center for performances of Ballet, Opera, and Symphony. The quad, double and single rooms are all air-conditioned, include refridgerators, and have shared bathrooms. A kitchen, tv lounge, and computer lab are located on the first floor of the dorm with an outdoor deck. The building has 24-hour on-site security along with full time chaperones residing on each floor.
Second housing option:
THE NEW SCHOOL, located at 318 East 15th Street between 1st & 2nd Avenues, this new and spacious residence is nestled in the Greenwich Village/Union Square neighborhood with wonderful views of Stuyvesant Park and easy access to campus buildings. It offers large rooms and common spaces, including a main lounge, study room, gym, art room, and music practice space. Shared baths in each suite with electric stove top, microwave oven, and a refrigerator. Each suite has an assigned phone number & phone jack in room. Each resident has Ethernet data jack in room for free internet access. The building has a 24-hour security desk. For more information about this residence facilities click here.
Note: Meals and meal plans are not included, nor available in NYC. Students will have access to the Juilliard cafeteria, countless neighboring cafes, restaurants, and grocery stores.
Transportation costs are also not included in the cost of tuition.
NEW FEATURE FOR NYC HOUSING: Starting this year, participants in the New York program, 18yrs and older, who choose to live in housing provided through the Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Intensive will not be chaperoned in the dormitories. Everyone will still be required to adhere to all of the building rules and policies and observe the program's code of conduct.
