Congratulations to Kristina Bentz, Adam Hartley, Spencer Keith, and Annette Faynburd, who were chosen to participate in a Gala Performance of the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow!
The Russian
American Foundation and Moscow's Bolshoi
Ballet Academy are proud to present the 3rd Annual Summer Intensive for pre-professional dancers of
all levels.
The six-week Intensive will take place June 29
- Aug 7, 2009. Alternatively, students can enroll in one of two three-week sessions taking place June 29 - July 17 and July 20 - Aug 7.
Students who do not wish to take part in the Final Gala Performance must enroll in either the first three-week session or a five-week session that takes place June 29 - July 31, as the final week of classes will be primarily devoted to preparing for the event.
**Please note that the above dates are subject to change slightly in the upcoming weeks as we finalize our arrangements.**
Students have the option to commute or enroll in a residence program.
Female and male students are welcome, as are duets, though partnering classes will only be included at the Advanced Level.
The Bolshoi Ballet Academy has been preparing principal dancers for the stage since 1773 and continues to earn the highest honors in the international dance world. The Bolshoi Ballet recently won a prestigious Critic's Circle National Dance Award for Best Foreign Company of 2007, while Bolshoi Ballet soloist and recent Academy graduate Natalia Osipova, a student of Marina Leonova, was awarded the Richard Sherrington Award for Best Female Dancer of 2007.
Famous for its pedagogy, The Academy has an especially strong international reputation for providing the very best training in classical technique, artistic expression, musicality, partnering and men's technique. The intensive training sessions are based on the world-renowned Bolshoi Ballet methods and the pedagogy is supervised by the Dean of the Academy, Marina Leonova. Master Teachers will come exclusively from Moscow to instruct students in Classical Ballet, Repertoire, Pointe, Variations, Character Dance and Historical Dance.
