Russian American Foundation has been selected for the highly prestigious NSLI Youth Program which allows RAF to send 10 students on an all expense paid summer intensive to Moscow combining Russian language, cultural immersion and Bolshoi Ballet Academy training!*

Ballet Academy are proud to present the 2010 Annual Summer Intensive for pre-professional dancers of
all levels.
The Sessions will take place as follows:
June 28 - Aug 6, 2010 - 6-Week Intensive Session with training culminating in a final performance.
June 28 - July 30, 2010 - 5-Week Intensive Session for those desiring maximum training but no performance.
June 28 - July 16, 2010 - 3-Week Intensive Session with training culminating in a day of open classes.
July 19 - Aug 6, 2010 - 3-Week Intensive Session with training culminating in a final performance. (Note that the 3rd week will have substantial class time dedicated to rehearsals)
Students have the option to commute or enroll in a residence program. The Program is open to females and males ages 9 and older. Partnering classes will only be included at the Intermediate Level (Ages 13-14) and Advanced Level (Ages 15 and older).*
The Bolshoi Ballet Academy, one of the oldest and most established schools for classical ballet training, has produced numerous world-class dancers, teachers, and choreographers. With its 235-year history, the Academy is steeped in a rich cultural tradition with a strong curriculum and a pedagogy that focuses on strength, musicality, clarity, and personal expression. Most of the Principal Dancers of the Bolshoi Ballet graduated from the Academy, and are among the leading dancers in the world today. Other current alumni include Principal Dancers, Artistic Directors, top ballet educators and scholars in the world. From some of the most accomplished dancers of the 20th century, including Maya Plisetskaya, Vladimir Vasiliev, Ekaterina Maximova, to the stars of the current generation, including Nina Ananiashvili, Vladimir Malakhov, Natalia Osipova, Alexei Ratmansky, Polina Semionova, and Nikolai Tsiskaridze, the Academy and its graduates continue to earn the highest honors and acclaims in the international dance world.
The Summer Intensive incorporates the world-renowned Bolshoi Ballet Academy methods with a pedagogy supervised by the Dean of the Academy, Marina Leonova. Master Teachers will come exclusively from Moscow’s Academy to instruct students in Classical Ballet, Repertoire, Pointe, Variations, Character Dance, Historical Dance, Male Technique and Partnering**.
NEW CLASSES OFFERED IN CONNECTICUT (AGES 9-14): A Male Technique Class is offered to students accepted into our CT program, as well as Introduction to Partnering, which will be offered to select students ages 13-14.
